This November is Adopt a Senior Pet month, and we want to help shine a light on older pets to show they are just as deserving of a loving home.

We have been getting back in touch with some of our previous elderly residents to see how they are getting on in their new homes. Not only this, but we have also asked you, our wonderful adopters, what made you choose to adopt a senior pet.

So far, we have heard from Snowy, Jack, and Doris, and now we want you to meet Buster. He came into our care back in March 2022, and had a lot of movement issues so we always used a buggy with him, and he loved it! However, it seems he has really improved since being rehomed.

Here is what his new family had to say:

“Buster is doing great and has settled in well.

He is currently off the medication he was on when came home with us and now visits the vet monthly for a pain blocker injection. It's been a long journey getting him to go in there easily, his notes had said he would need to be sedated but we've worked hard to avoid that. He sits there quite happily and has built up a bit of a fan base there, although he doesn't trust the vet completely!

The stairs and steps we were told could be a problem for him but have not stopped him at all. He is constantly running about after his tennis ball and jumping on beds, chairs, and laps!!

We chose to rehome an older dog as they tend to get over-looked, but they have just as much character and personality as a puppy.

After hearing Buster’s story, I wanted to give him the same love and care that he had received from his previous family, he deserves that. Plus, as soon as I saw his picture and read about him, I fell in love - we all have!”
