  • Physical work to get both your mind and body active
  • Make an impact on the community and our regular visitors

  • A friendly staff team who will support you with your activities for the day
  • Help homeless, abandoned and neglected animals to live a healthier, happier life before they find their forever homes

Team building activities

Here are some examples of what you might be helping with on the day:

  • Preparing for events (setting up gazebos, dog show rings, tables etc)
  • Decorating areas used for dog visits
  • Constructing exercise and enrichment areas for dogs
  • Setting up new homes for animals
  • Gardening (planting trees, vegetables and flowers, tidying up some forgotten areas of the centre)
  • Snuffle mat and other enrichment toy crafting
  • Maintenance (repairing and/or painting fences and shelters)
  • If you have particular skills you would like to share on the day, we’d love to hear about them!

What to expect on the day

Exact itineraries will vary across our 5 centres, and some of the below activities might take place at different parts of the day, but a typical day might look something like this:

9am: Arrive at the centre for a welcome tea or coffee and meet your guide for the day

9:30: Guided tour of the centre with ‘behind the scenes’ access to a busy working rescue centre, where you’ll see the resident animals begin their daily routines. Your guide will tell you a bit about the animals you see and explain an animal’s journey through rescue to a new home.

10am: Morning task (will be pre-arranged with you when you book but see above for example activities)

11:30: Tea Break

11:45: Continue morning task

13:00: Lunchbreak – bring your own or visit a local pub/café. Some centres have facilities to allow you to eat lunch onsite, whereas others don’t have enough space. The set up at your chosen centre will be explained to you when booking. If the weather is nice, all centres have outdoor space available for picnics.

14:00: Afternoon task and meet some animals (sometimes the task will continue from the morning, sometimes it will be something new – this can be pre-arranged when you book)

15:00 Time to celebrate a job well done with a group photo and a big thank you to your team.

Cost

Prices range from £20 - £30 per head, depending on facilities available onsite. Exact pricing will be confirmed by the team at your chosen centre when you get in touch.
