Meet Otto!

Hey everyone, My name is Otto and I am on the lookout for my forever home!!
I am a very handsome boy, a big softy and a bit of a goofball! I am quite a large boy but it just means there is even more of me to love!
I have the saddest eyes that just draw you in and then I will love you forever.
I can walk really well on the lead when there are no distractions. But I will get excited when I see other dogs and that is when you will feel my strength. So my new owners will need to be happy to continue my lose lead training, and the team here at the centre have also fitted me with a very smart headcollar that gives my handler even more control. I love my walks and really enjoy sniffing and exploring, if there is water about....even better, I'm not afraid of jumping in paws first!
I need to work on my recall as at the moment the world is just too exciting and it's too tempting to explore and investigate rather than listen to my handler. I am building great bonds here with my friends at the centre though so I am getting better and once I have a nice bond with my new owner my recall will come on in leaps and bounds!
As I came into the centre as a stray the team are unsure of how I will be in a home or when I'm left alone, so that will be a learning curve for all of us.
With me being the size that I am, I'm going to need a good height of garden fencing to keep me safe and secure.
I have learned to play again and am loving my large selection of toys, especially the squeaky ones - you will find me showing them off to all the visitors here at the centre. I really love a fuss, and thrive off lots of praise and attention. I have been building such lovely bonds with my handlers because they take me on lots of fun adventures and give me plenty of cuddles, so this could be the same for you and I!
The team think I could potentially live with a female dog of similar size who could cope with my boisterous and big character, but cats I'm not so sure about. If there are children in the home, I think I will need older ones due to my liking of jumping up but we will have to see how the meets go here first.
If you like the bigger type dogs I could be the loyal and loving friend you have been looking for xx
