Meet Leo!
Hello, I’m Leo, I came to the centre as a stray and I can’t wait to find a home to call my own.
I’m a bit of a nervous boy and I get worried about new experiences where I feel unsure of things. This means it takes me a little longer to settle and to really be able to put my trust in someone. When you see me in my kennel, I might bark at you but it’s just because I’m scared, please don’t think it means I don’t want someone to love! I hope I can find an owner who will have the patience to help me build up my confidence and show me all the wonderful things about life I have been missing out on so far. Once I do start to form a bond with someone, I can be very loving and I show a whole different side to my personality.
I’m a very clever boy and I love learning new things. So far, I’ve learnt how to sit, give paw and touch and I can’t wait to learn more things with my new family - especially if it means I get a tasty treat!
I made friends with some of the other lurchers at the centre so I think I might enjoy living with another sighthound, but we would have to meet a few times to check we’re a good match. I wouldn't be able to live with any other breed of dog. I really don’t want to live with cats though - it's too tempting to chase them! I will need to live with adults and teenagers only and my home will need to have a nice big garden for me to exercise in. I would also like it if someone in my family could be home all the time to help me settle in.
If you have space in your heart to help a shy boy like me, please apply today.
